Process

1) Site Evaluation:
The EnergyScapes process begins with a site evaluation by one of our ecologically trained staff. We scientifically assess existing conditions and landscape features to make recommendations for improvements that highlight the natural beauty of your property while minimizing need for energy and maintenance.

2) Master Plans:
We then develop a plan that features your desires, creates spaces for entertaining and relaxing, and brings the beauty of our native plants and natural stone to your home.

3) Transforming your Landscape:
After we have collaborated with you to develop a plan that meets your needs, we provide all the services necessary to install the plan:
- Removal of undesirable and invasive plants- Grading surfaces to improve rainwater harvesting- Building soil health through the addition of compost and organic mulches- Construction of water features- Planting- Enjoyable staff: EnergyScapes often receives compliments from clients about how easy we are to have in the yard while transforming a landscape

4) Nurturing:
Our services do not end with installation. While our landscapes are designed to be low-maintenance, some weeding and care is still required. Allow us to teach you how to take care of your EnergyScape, or we can do the maintenance for you. EnergyScapes can provide:
- Site evaluation and recommended actions- Weeding and invasive species removal and prevention- Pruning- Controlled burns- Fencing or repellent spray to control damage from rabbits and deer- Exterior home maintenance requirements including snow removal, roof repairs, painting, irrigation seasonal maintenance, concrete replacement or repair, lawn mowing, design and install annual planters, and design for pet friendly landscapes/pet waste composting systems. We have a vast database of reputable contractors.

Typical Project Timeline:
- First Meeting: An EnergyScapes staff member visits your site to assess your existing landscape and discuss your goals and desires.- One to Two Weeks Later: Measurements, soil samples, and photos are taken at your site to aid in the development of a base map.- One to Two Weeks Later: Concept stage; the concept plan is discussed and changes are made to the initial plan.
