FROM CLIENTS:
“I was so impressed and very grateful at the dependability and skill of the EnergyScapes team. They were personable and respectful as well as careful to plan for the best drainage and the most artful placement of the flagstone. They were impeccable in cleaning up and thorough and willing in following up to ensure that everything was just the way I wanted it. We love the creativity and skill they brought to the project. EnergyScapes has added beauty and value to our property and to the whole neighborhood.” – Jane D. — Minneapolis
“We had an excellent experience with this company. All employees were pleasant, professional, and communicative. in particular, the crew worked diligently. The slope of the hill was very challenging, as was the constant rain and/or brutal heat. The end product fits so well into the hill that it looks like a glacial deposit! Highly recommended for folks looking for a truly eco-friendly company.” – Julie I. — Minnetonka
“After consulting with several designers, we hired EnergyScapes because they combined beautiful design, innovative thinking, and ecological solutions for several landscape problems, including basement flooding. Their team was prompt, courteous and easy to work with. WeÕve recommended them to all our friends.” – Lisa H. — Minneapolis
“I am so glad I learned about Energyscapes. They came out and did a very thorough job with my garden plan. I chose to include my entire yard and to do it year by year. Each job looks good on its own and integrates with the others, so it always looks good! I have gotten so many compliments from the neighbors too, it’s been quite fun. Every person that I have worked with at Energyscapes has been a delight! I highly recommend them.” – Deborah O. — New Hope
“Energyscapes has worked for me for over fifteen years. My late husband left me a lovely woodland garden with mainly native plants and shrubs, and I needed help maintaining and developing it. Douglas proved the right person for that. Energyscapes has also worked at my lake property in Wisconsin, where I wanted to create a natural boundary with the adjacent property. Now, two years later, the area is not only much more attractive but it also looks as if it has forever been this way; moreover, Energyscapes’ design guides passers-by around my property in a natural and unobtrusive way. Energyscapes understands the nature of my properties and respects my ideas and preferences. Douglas’ designs are always harmonious with their surroundings. During the years we have worked together he has become a trusted friend.” – Corrie B. — Minneapolis
FROM COLLEAGUES:
“I am in awe of Douglas’ commitment to the environment and his knowledge of sustainable practices and their application to landscape design. He has been putting his knowledge into practice way before it was the fashionable thing to do. I have worked with him on the APLD International Awards Committee where he further underscored the importance of sustainable design by supporting its inclusion in every entry category.” – Susan Cohan, APLD. Owner/Designer, Susan Cohan Gardens, LLC
“I’ve learned to “see” the land from a different prospective from Douglas. His groundbreaking work using native plants and sustainable materials has changed the way I view design possibilities. Douglas shares my view that understanding, celebrating the land, and designing a landscape with a deep spiritual connection improves the quality of all of our lives. The water conference that we attended and met 10 years ago was pivotal to understanding the way water shapes the land and the land creates its form and melodies. It was because of Douglas that I joined APLD, attended its conferences, became a chapter officer in my region, and became certified.” – Maria Von Brincken. Designer, Maria von Brincken Landscape Garden Design
